Last week I had the joy of taking part in the Transilvania Creative Camp, an Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme hosted by the Transilvania University of Brașov.

Students from 11 countries, representing fields from Anthropology, Cultural Heritage and Humanities to Marketing, Management, Tourism and more, came together, guided by amazing teachers from universities such as The Pontifical University John Paul II in Krakow, Université Savoie Mont Blanc, University of Dunaújváros, Penn State University, as well as from Stuttgart, Zaragoza and Torino.

We explored the cultural and natural heritage of Țara Lăpușului, spoke with locals, tasted traditional food, and collected stories worth telling further. We took notes, photographs, and films, gathering impressions on folklore, gastronomy, wooden churches and old crafts.

Inspiring lectures were hosted at the Petru Rareș High School, Târgu Lăpuș, while my class, dedicated to meaning in images and creating sense in still and moving pictures, took place outdoors, in the wonderful setting of Pensiunea Țara li Pintea, Cupșeni, pictured here.

Beyond that, we joined two weddings, explored forests, visited churches and monasteries, worked the hay and much more: a true immersion into Transylvanian life.

A big thank you to
Florin Nechita for the invitation and for being the driving force behind this incredible experience.
