The Peterskirche in Vienna, Austria is a Baroque Roman Catholic parish church. It is the oldest church building (of which nothing exists now) dating back to the Early Middle Ages, and it is thought to be Vienna’s oldest church. A Roman encampment served as the foundation for that Roman church. The Archbishop of Vienna, Franz Cardinal König, gave it to the Opus Dei priests in 1970. I was able to photograph it in an afternoon and even after dark and noticed many magnificent decorations, paintings, and even St. Nicholas peeking from behind a wall.
