Leaping Boy, Returning Man

I’m thrilled to share that the editors at Condé Nast have chosen a second photograph of mine to join the Photo Vogue collection.
Titled Leaping Boy, Returning Man: The Rite of Passage in Mid-Air, the image captures a dynamic moment from the Junii Brașovului, a unique cultural tradition in Brașov, Romania. These vibrant para-military initiation groups, known as “juni” or “young, unmarried men,” celebrate each spring with an evocative blend of Pagan and Christian rituals. Central to this event is Aruncatul în țol (Rag Throwing), an ancient initiation ritual that symbolizes the transition from boyhood to young manhood, deeply embedded in the ethos of the Junii Brașovului.
